Annotation: The article examines the importance of developing students' research competence through the organization of design and research activities, as a fundamentally new requirement for the result of mastering educational programs: the formation of practical skills that will allow the student to independently set tasks, choose a way to solve them, navigate the information flow, and most importantly apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
