Annotation: The relationship between subjective health assessment and risky behavior among Russians is explored. Based on an analysis of RLMS-HSE data (n=9600), it was found that high self-rated health correlates with an increased propensity for risk in the areas of health, workplace safety, and driving, mediated by the illusion of invulnerability. The results highlight the need for measures to correct illusory beliefs through diagnostics, education, and digital technologies to reduce risks.
