Annotation: The article discusses the problems that limit the economic activity of national businesses and the effective functioning of St. Petersburg's industrial enterprises. The article discusses the role of youth education and the importance of the education system for the sustainability of the national economy, including professional orientation and the creative component that is implemented in the workplace. The article also provides employer assessments of the quality of education provided by St. Petersburg's higher and secondary vocational educational institutions.
