Annotation: The article substantiates the system-forming role of the automotive industry in the global economy. The state of Russian automotive production has been analyzed, and its systemic problems have been identified: dependence on foreign vendors, low localization, shortage of personnel, underutilization of capacities and contradictory results of increased recycling fees.
