Annotation: This paper reveals the characteristics of crisis periods and changes in consumer behavior against their background, and highlights a gap in modern consumer research. The analysis of the dynamics of indicators of macroeconomic development and consumer spending is presented and the proposed patterns observed during the passage of crises are formulated.
