Annotation: The article analyzes the demographic dynamics of rural territories in the Orenburg region for the period 2019–2024. A steady population decline is identified. The necessity of diversifying the rural economy as a factor in stabilizing the demographic situation is substantiated. A classification of diversification forms is presented with regard to the natural and climatic specifics of the region
