Link for download: School teachers as agents of STEM career guidance: practices and barriers to the formation of students' scientific capital.docx

Authors: Alena Igorevna Cherevkova, Galina Igorevna Chikarova

Annotation: This article analyzes the role of teachers as key agents of career guidance in STEM professions. Drawing on L. Archer's concept of scientific capital, which extends Pierre Bourdieu's theory of capitals to the scientific and technical sphere, the article examines the practices used by teachers for STEM career guidance, as well as the barriers that limit the effectiveness of this work. The empirical base is data from a questionnaire survey of teachers (N = 1,849), conducted in March-April 2025 in three cities (Moscow, Samara, Rostov-on-Don). A contradiction was revealed between teachers' high subjective assessment of their role in career guidance (47.9% consider it key) and low actual activity (only 10.8% initiate it independently). The main obstacle is a lack of resources and time (65.3% of teachers report an overloaded curriculum and a lack of time in the classroom), which makes it impossible to personalize the transfer of scientific capital. Additional obstacles include teachers' lack of personalized scientific capital, weak horizontal connections between schools and businesses and research organizations, and a gap between the formats offered by schools and the expectations of parents and students. This article explores the emergence of the phenomenon of institutionalized but not personalized scientific capital, overcoming which requires not strengthening formal measures but rather restoring teacher agency, reducing teaching loads, and integrating teachers into relevant scientific and industry communities.

The editorial and publishing process has ceased to be a narrowly functional chain of preparation for publication. It has become a step-by-step plan for implementing the life cycle, from project to distribution (or even recycling) of the copy and/or archiving the electronic file on a special server, where key stages are linked to digital tools and platforms. At the production level, this is expressed in the mass adoption of digital layout, automated workflows for preparing electronic and audio versions; at the distribution level, in the dominance of marketplaces. The traditional, linear chain of material preparation is shifting towards a continuous, multi-threaded, and cross-platform cycle. Today, the editorial process functions as an integrated digital ecosystem where content is created, adapted, and distributed simultaneously across multiple channels, including websites and blogs, mobile applications, podcast platforms, video hosting services, and social media. This is facilitated by the use of digital content management systems, cloud-based collaboration tools, data processing and visualization tools, automated content distribution services, and algorithmic optimization for reach.

    Authors: Lyudmila Nikolaevna Belikova

Annotation: The research focuses on inequality in public access to cultural services. Based on the analysis of the municipal program for the development of culture in Tyumen and reports on its implementation, the main forms of territorial and infrastructural inequality are identified, caused by imbalances in the placement of social infrastructure facilities and the lag in their development pace behind housing construction. The mechanisms used by local authorities to ensure the accessibility of cultural services, including interdepartmental interaction and the search for new premises, are presented. The necessity of shifting from gross indicators to indicators of real accessibility of cultural goods is substantiated.
