Annotation: The article deals with the readiness of postgraduate students in the Vologda Region to work in science. It has been established that most postgraduate students have plans to work in science after completing their studies and thinking that they have enough knowledge to do so. Using clustering, groups of postgraduate students have been identified and analyzed, among which there are those who plan to work in science, but believe that the knowledge they received during their studies is insufficient to participate in scientific research.
