Annotation: Despite the fact that the regions of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation are rich in natural resources and have significant infrastructural potential, many of them are experiencing financial difficulties in balancing the regional budget - they are subsidized, characterized by a high proportion of public debt. The paper analyzes the income, expenditure, and public debt indicators of the budgets of the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation, and examines their role in ensuring the socio-economic development of the territories.
