Annotation: The article is devoted to the analysis of the legal regulation of termination of an employment contract by agreement of the parties (art. 78 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation). Despite its apparent simplicity, the procedure requires strict compliance with formal requirements, including the mandatory drafting and signing of an agreement by both parties. The author emphasizes that termination of the contract is possible only with the mutual consent of the parties. Unlike voluntary dismissal, unilateral withdrawal from an agreement is not possible.
